Philosophy of religion has got to be my least favourite aspect of Philosophy. Ugh. Unless we’re discussing the content of each religion or arguments for Gods I just really don’t care. Most of the time it’s just recycled arguments about whether religion points to anything real in the world and if it can be verified/falsified or whether it’s just about faith and is meaningless and it just seems futile as whatever arguments you try to use to say it isn’t about anything in the world, the religious believer can just explain it away and you’re left in the same place with more contradictory evidence pointing at nothing and that the religious person doesn’t even care about.

yeah. I feel you. Most of the religious text is metaphorical. that’s how they would communicate life lessons and such.. through stories. I love that too. but i don’t like how people get attached to the literal sense of the metaphor. /smh
