A song of opposites

I really wish that I liked The Weeknd but there’s just something about his voice that puts me off, everything else though I like. There are just some strange nuances when he sings that throw the whole song off. And being a person that listens to music purely for the surface appearance i.e. how it sounds it’s really off putting. It’s like he’s straining most of the time or his throat hurts or something idk.
